June 2007/Present Day, Freelance Designer, URBAN PUEBLO:

In conjunction with my partner, graphic designer Ivan Calderón, we design graphics for the new clothing line of Urban Pueblo,

a company based in Philadelphia, USA. 


January 2006 – Present Day,  Senior Industrial Designer at Ariel Rojo Design Studio, Mexico City.

I collaborated in different projects of product design, interior design,and furniture.

Important projects where I have been involved at Ariel Rojo’s Studio are:


- Client: Emblem/Unilever Mexico:

    Worked with the industrial design team together with Emblem (a marketing and graphic design studio),

           in order to design and develop the exterior package for a new line of Pond’s beauty cream called “TriActive”.

           This product is distributed in all Latin America.

    This design was awarded with the Quórum Silver Award in 2007.

-Client: Club Med México:

    Ariel Rojo Design Studio was in charge for the facade and interior design of the new  Club Med travel agency located in

           one of the most trendy avenues of Mexico City.

           I joined the interior and furniture design team, and support the architectural department.


-Client: Lodela:

    Worked with the project team to redesign a toy named “Habilidad” (Skill). This is best selling product

    of  Lodela (a Mexican Toy Manufacturer). We re-desing the buttons interface and developed the mechanical

           components to turn the device into an electronic toy.


- Client: Centro Promotor de Diseño / Mezcal Tenamaztle:

     Centro Promotor de Diseño, (a foundation that promotes designs solutions to companies in Mexico)

            approached Ariel Rojo Design Studio to develop a new bottle for Tenamaztle, a Mezcal

            manufacturer from Zacatecas, Mexico. I colaborated in the conceptual, representation and the engineering

            stages of this project.


- Client: Alsea:

    Responsable of designing environmental graphics and co-coordinator of the

           production and installation team for the company’s lobby, mezzanine, foodcourt, training facilities and main offices.

           (Alsea operates several american fast food companies in Mexico like  Domino’s Pizza, Burger King,

           and Starbucks, among others).


-Client: Univerisdad Autónoma de México:

     Worked with the design and production team to develop the signage for the bicycle route and main        bicycle central station

           at the UNAM University Campus. Along with this project, I’ve been involved in designng and manufacturing the logo for

           the new University President’s podium, UNESCO’s “Wold Heritage” conmemorative plate at the Campus, as well the signage for

           the wireless hot spots around Campus .


-Client: Maquinaria Creativa:

    I work with the creative team to design a new trigger bottle for a well known cleaning brand

    to be sold in Mexico and the US. From the early sketches to the final CAD model for rapid prototyping

           took us about tree weeks.

    This project is still  under development.


-Client: Gonac:

    Designed the new exhibitor and selling cart to store more than 30 different snack products to be distributed

           in more than 300 stores in Mexico.  Gonac is a leading Mexican company of chips and soda manufacturer.


-Client: Emblem:

    Worked with the design team to develop a new tequila bottle to be distributed in the United States. This project is

    currently under development.


- Client: Tequila Mayorazgo:

    Worked as part of the design team that developed a new bottle for Mayorazgo Tequila.


-Client: Ibarra

    Worked with the design team to do a new package for a Mexican cocoa company to be sold both

    in the US and Mexico. This project is under development.

May - July 2005, Volunteer in Piña Palmera Physic Rehabilitation Center, Zipolite, Oaxaca,  Mexico.

Volunteered for two months in this rural part of Oaxaca State

Designed handycraft projects for woodcraft and recycled paped workshops.

- Music:  Really important part of my life. I’ve been part of Ten Cake, a punk rock band and co-wrote a song with Dagger, a heavy metal band. I also write and record original music with The Fernanduccis, a rock studio band, and played drums with Occulta and guitar with Dirty Woman, both Stoner Rock bands in Mexico City.


- Wu Shu Kung Fu: I’ve been practicing Kung Fu for the past 4 years.


- Bicycling:  I try to use more my bicycle than my car in Mexico City.


- Writing: I wrote some design and music related articles for

INVASION!, a local Fanzine, and I regularly participate in

INVASION! Podcasts, where we discuss pop culture and music.
